A vehicle accident in Monongalia County left two people injured enough to need emergency medical attention. The accident occurred around 8 pm on Interstate 79 South at mile marker 157.

The incident resulted in two flipped vehicles that included a camper and a truck.

The two injured parties were transported to the hospital from the scene of the crash. There is no word on the cause of the accident or the condition of those involved. The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation.

Rollover Accidents Result in Serious Injuries

Rollover and flip accidents occur when a vehicle tips over on its side or roof. These are some of the deadliest types of traffic collisions. Approximately one in three fatal accidents is related to a rollover accident.

It’s important that victims involved in rollover crashes contact a trusted attorney who understands the devastating consequences of a rollover crash.

These serious accidents can occur at any time on any roadway. Most of them involve speeding. Although any type of auto accident at a high-speed can involve devastating injuries and deaths, rollover and flip accidents pose a greater risk for fatal injuries. This is especially true if anyone involved is not wearing a seatbelt.

Many rollover and flip accidents are avoidable. Drivers must slow down, leave several lengths between their vehicles and the vehicles in front of them, and take extra precautions when necessary. But all too often, drivers fail to use basic safety strategies and accidents occur.

What Should You Do after a Rollover or Flip Accident?

The first thing you should do if you or a loved one was involved in a rollover accident is seek medical attention. This is the case even if you believe your injuries don’t seem serious.

Once the medical needs of those involved are attended to, you must document the details of the incident. All information and evidence can be helpful in documenting what happened during a rollover accident.

It’s also important to contact an attorney with experience dealing with serious auto accidents. Your legal team can help you obtain compensation for:

  • Medical costs
  • Pain and suffering
  • Past and future wage loss
  • Damaged property
  • Loss of relations with loved ones

If you’ve suffered significant injuries as the result of a rollover or flip accident caused by the negligence of someone else, it’s important to work with an attorney to obtain compensation for their damages.
