Two Die in Single-Car Crash in Pennsylvania

Two people died in a single-car crash that involved a tree in Pennsylvania. Investigators believe speed was a factor in the collision.

The accident occurred in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania around 6 am in the 700 block of West Pine Street.

Two other young adults who were in the backseat of the vehicle were seriously injured in the crash.

Young Drivers are High-Risk Drivers

Like anything, driving requires practice and experience. The less time someone has been driving the higher risk they are.

Add to that the fact that young drivers sometimes use poor judgment and/or are distracted when driving. This tends to occur for many because there are several young passengers in a vehicle with young drivers.

While investigators are not sure exactly what caused the Pennsylvania accident other than speed being a factor, it is understandable why people might think inexperience played a role since everyone in the vehicle was young.

Despite many laws in place to protect young drivers, they are involved in more collisions than more experienced drivers. This is why insurance companies charge more for young and inexperienced drivers.

Good judgment and the unwillingness to take unnecessary risks usually take time to develop, which is one of the reasons young drivers are high-risk.
