Highway Driving is High-Risk

Highway driving can be dangerous for a number of reasons. Here are five of the biggest dangers:

1. Accident Risk is Higher

The faster you drive, the more likely you are to get into an accident. In fact, on highways, the risk of getting in a crash is quadruple the risk of getting in a crash on other roads.

2. Fatal Accident Occur More Frequently

Highway driving is also much more dangerous than other types of driving. In fact, the chance of dying in a car accident is three times higher on the highway than it is on other roads. The risk is so great that many people do everything they can to avoid highway driving.

3. Any Accidents that Occur are More Likely to Be Serious

In addition to being more likely to get in an accident, you’re also more likely to get into a serious accident on the highway. This is because the speeds are higher and the cars are traveling in one direction.

4. Accidents Caused by Wild Animals are Common

One of the biggest dangers of highway driving is hitting a deer. In fact, you’re four times more likely to hit a deer on the highway than you are on other roads. Don’t assume that wild animals aren’t a problem unless you’re on a country backroad.

5. Tractor-Trailer and Semi Crashes are More Likely

Finally, one of the biggest dangers of highway driving is getting into a crash with a tractor trailer. These accidents often result in serious injury or death.

If you or a loved one was injured or died in a highway crash, you need legal assistance. Accidents that occur on our nation’s highways, at high speeds, are devastating. It’s rare for someone involved in a highway crash to walk away without any injuries at all.

In far too many cases, highway accidents involve sever, potentially threatening injuries. Your life can change forever and you deserve to be compensated for your injuries.
