And Now For Something Completely Different

The life of a lawyer can be difficult. While we take great joy in helping our clients to get the justice and compensation that’s due to them, that doesn’t change the fact that we’re most often dealing with bad news. In fact, as you’ve probably noticed, we’ve been sharing quite a bit of bad news lately here on the blog. So, we thought it might be time for something different. Just because we’re lawyers, it doesn’t mean we can’t share a story that will cheer you up from time to time.

The Cat That Came Back From the Dead

We were perusing the Associated Press recently, and we came across this absolutely amazing story from Florida. In the month of January, a pet owner had their young cat out in the yard, when that cat scurried out into the road and was hit by a car. We know, we said this story was going to be cheery! Just bear with us for a moment.

The cat’s name was Bart the Cat, and the owner was so upset about the cat being hit by a car, that he couldn’t even bear the thought of burying the cat. So, he enlisted the help of a neighbor to make a grave for the cat. Now, here’s where things get interesting.

Five days after burying the cat, Bart the Cat rose up from his grave, a little worse for wear, certainly, but meowing for food nonetheless. Completely shocked by the cat’s return, the cat’s owner immediately took Bart to the veterinarian. It was determined that the cat would need to have surgery and one of his eyes removed, an expensive proposition!

Thankfully, the Human Society of Tampa was there to help. They provided the pet owner with $1,000 so that the cat could get the surgery and care that it needed. After a period of recovery, Bart the Cat has come back to life, and is now enjoying life once again.

It’s a crazy story, we know, and we’re not quite sure what to make of it. How did the cat survive for five days underground? Did no one notice that the cat was still alive when it was buried? Or is this really a miracle? We’re really not sure about the answer to any of these questions, and here we were thinking that a cat having nine lives was just a turn of phrase!

If you were having a rough day, hopefully that story cheered you up! At the very least, it should give you something to talk about with the family over dinner.
