15 Year old student dies at Ski Resort
A 15-year-old high school freshman from Singapore died on the 16th of January while skiing at the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania.
Juliette Dajani attended Blair Academy, which is a private school in Blairstown, New Jersey housing over 400 students of 26 different nationalities.
Officials at the Shawnee Mountain Ski Area which is close to East Stroudsburg said that Dajani was struck from an orange safety fence after she skied off and lost control at the bottom of the trail on Monday. The resort officials informed that she was on a school trip participating in a sports event with Warren County Boarding School. The paramedics, ski patrol and EMT all arrived at the scene within a minute and found her to be unresponsive.
Dajani was from Singapore and the authorities have not released any other information about her due to privacy concerns at this point of time. She was immediately taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono. Her death was ruled out as an accident resulting from multiple blunt force injuries according to the Monroe County Coroner, Bob Allen.
The School expressed its extreme grief in the tragic demise of its student and asked that their privacy must be respected as this was a very sensitive and personal time for everyone.
Many of her peers mourned her loss on Facebook expressing their grief and sense of loss.
