Road Conditions, Other Factor Increase the Risk for Crashes
Accidents occur every day on nearby roads and highways, and in many cases these crashes are fatal. The winter weather that often brings snowy, icy conditions on roadways adds to the risk drivers face every time they get behind the wheel.
Making matters worse, drivers share the road with tractor trailer trucks that pose additional dangers. In the I-64 accident, the truck was parked alongside the road at a standstill, but still added to the impact of the crash. Trucks are large and in most cases, accidents involving them are devastating.
