Investigation Opened After Gas Drilling Worker Killed
Investigators at the state and federal level have launched an investigation into the death of a gas drilling worker in Montrose, Pennsylvania.
According to Cabot Oil & Gas, the contract worker suffered injures while working in Susquehanna County. The injured worker was transported to Montrose Hospital and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Officials are waiting to notify relatives before releasing the identity of the worker.
According to Pennsylvania State police and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), all parties involved are thus far cooperating with the investigation of the incident.
Said Cabot Oil & Gas spokesperson George Stark, “We extend our sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased. We are heartbroken over this incident.” According to Stark, nobody else was injured in the incident.
